How do I get an invite to Mixi?

Well I live in illinois and I want some Japanese friends. So I went to the site and it said you had to get an invite first how do i do that?

i dont think you can register mixi even if someone invites you.


you need to have a japanese mobile phone email address.


one of my friend invited me to mixi before, but i couldnt register cause i dont have a mobile.

So you must find a friend who is already a Mixi member. But I think it's not so easy because you are in the United States. One alternative is to buy an invitation at Yahoo! Japan auction. I don't think many of them are selling it to someone out of Japan. But it's worth searching the auction.
Reply:You need to know someone who is already a member of Mixi. Usually they don't really invite strangers but their close friends. I think one of the reasons is that they don't want the website to be the gathering place for some weird people or something??? I don't know.





But anyway, if you know someone who is a member of the site, you can ask him/her to invite you. And if someone invites you to join Mixi, the invitation message will be sent to you by e-mail in Japanese. So your computer must have Japanese fonts to read Japanese language.





By the way, it doesn't matter where you live to join Mixi. People from all over the world are memebers of the site. I live in the states and I am a member of Mixi.
