I have an average deck & wanted to invite friends over for a party. How do I decorate it to be more welcoming?

It's always funny to draw a little face on it and make it a hat. Never gets old!!
I have an average deck %26amp; wanted to invite friends over for a party. How do I decorate it to be more welcoming?
I suppose that depends on what kind of party it is...
Reply:Chairs, little tables, some fun music, even cute little decorations on the tables, like little candles or little tiki umbrellas or something like that. Having a few little dishes out also sets up a great mood, like chips/salsa, crackers and cheese, etc.
Reply:If it were me.......I would decide on a theme. Sports, Cowboy, Luau, honestly that is where I would start. Potted plants or flowers, (in the same color for continuity) and table decorations, tablecloths, or a table runner and a centerpiece (which could be a potted plant, but not too large no more than a 6"pot size) I would also, do a buffet style, snack and appetizer area, for an informal less work type of party. The drinks in a large iced tub always works. "Fairy Lights" for sure all over, adds so much mood to any deck or patio. If you can access the underneath of your deck.....try stringing some of the white fairy lights under there too....Helps the drunks see where they should be going.....LOL Have a Plastic lined trash can near the food table so those folks know where to put the trash....If you recycle....use more than one container, with cute signs posted...(Can do those on the computer) Plan ahead and do the Pre-preparation in all the areas and this will insure your guests will have an enjoyable time and you can enjoy your party yourself. Even extra toilet paper, extra paper towel, all that kind of stuff that is needed.....just write a plan, and stick to the plan.......get ideas from this site too....

Reply:One way is to install solar lawn lights around the deck! Add a few strings of Christmas lights throughout the hedges and plants around the yard, with some that flicker.
Reply:I don't know how to anwser your question but I LOVE your picture of Obi One He is SO cute!!

Ewan McGregor play Obi One and is so awsome! Did you know that he sings!! :)
Reply:Put a large artificial tree in one corner..string twinkle lights either in it or around the trunk of it..at the bottom of the steps going up to the deck put a large tub of beer, bottled water and pop with ice...prop a sign in it saying " Help Yourself"...follow a color scheme so everything doesn't look "hodge podge"..up to three colors, intertwined...

table clothes ( serving or eating, whichever),,,huge centerpiece..Just branches in a flowerpot works..get height to it..not width.

have clusters of chairs..like three to six together...not all in a circle..scattered ( they will move them where they want them)

soft music in the background..soft enough so people can hear one another...

go from here..
Reply:I suggest that you deck it out. Try placing several antique hunting decoys around the perimeter. Mallards are a nice touch. If that doesn't do the trick, deck the halls. In order to accomplish this, you will need to knock down several interior walls of your home. It will severely decrease the value of your place, but who cares? It's a party.
