True blood viewers, how many times to you have to invite the vampire in?

In the first or second episode Bill the vampire said he had to be invited into the house, just once forever? Your boy the vampire comes and goes as he pleases from sookies house, any comments?

I believe they implied the invitation can last as long as the inviter wants, and that it can be revoked.

In most mythologies, the vampire just has to be invited in once and can come and go as he or she pleases, which is how it works in Trueblood. However, while in the mainstream myths, once you invite them in, the invitation can't be taken back, but in Trueblood, I believe it can be.
Reply:True Blood is based on the Southern Vampire Book series Of Sookie Stackhouse written by Charlaine Harris....I've read the entire series...in the books Bill, and other vamps are invited in AND revoked. When they are revoked they walk out backwards.

Also the invitation is good, untill a revoke is given. Then they need to be invited in again.
Reply:Let me tell you something. Forget all those stupid fake fantasy vampires. The Real Deal is nothing like this namby pamby Bill and Co. You do not want to invite a vampire in, if you do there won't be anything romantic about it.
Reply:once invited all ways invited
Reply:In the show you can take back the invitation. At least that's what Bill's character says. Comes on in about an hour here. Can't wait!
Reply:The invitation is forever and can't be revoked.
