Is there any difference between a Gmail account from invite, and the public account?

I noticed that now you do NOT need an invite to get a Gmail account anymore. I found the link for sign ups on the Google website. I'm just curious whether you lose any features if I chose to sign up without the invite.

There is no difference.





Google didn't have the capacity to accept everyone, so they made you either sign up through wireless or from a friend referral. Now that they have upped the number of accounts they are capable of handling, they have made it publicly available.
