How many people did you invite to your babie's first birthday party? I have 20 on the guest list right now.?

Is this too many?
How many people did you invite to your babie's first birthday party? I have 20 on the guest list right now.?
My babies are young men now, but at their first birthday parties, we only had relatives and close friends over. There were probably 20 - 25 people total. My kids were just fine with that amount of people and did not become overstimulated. They had a wonderful time playing with their cousins and getting all the positive attention from all the adults. Relax and have fun! Those were happy times back then, and they go way too fast!
Reply:We'll probably have about 20-30 people here for my son's birthday in June, but we have a gigantic backyard so everyone will be able to spread out quite a bit. If your daughter loves interacting with people, I wouldn't worry about the guest list. If she gets overstimulated easily, consider dividing people into different rooms for different activities, or take everyone outside where there's a lot of open space. Have fun!
Reply:We have about 50(includes a lot of kids/babies) on the list but I know a good amount aren't coming. Have as many people as you want that are in her life...

We just happen to both have huge families so we were "doomed" to have a huge party. Wish it was only a small gathering at our house...
Reply:We have about 40 people so far that we've invited, although I'm sure not ALL of them will come because some have to travel 2-3 hours to get to the location.

For us it's family and close friends. We know a few people around here but are traveling up to Iowa(home for us) so we can have it with people we love the most and that love Noah the most. I don't think 20 people is too many, but it's totally your choice.

I think most babies, on their birthdays(especially their first) get a bit overstimulated. If you think she is just take her in a quiet area and calm her down, no biggie and people will understand.
Reply:I'm having around 80 for my daughters....my husband comes from a divorced family who's parents divorced as well, so he's got 5 sides coming. It's our aunts and uncles and cousins. His side would get soo mad if we didn't invite the family, so to keep the peace we have to invite that many...:(

I want like 15-20 so I think your amt is great!
Reply:We just had my sons first birthday party last weekend, and had about 17 people and we have a small house. He was a little overstimulated, but he's like that...he doesn't like loud, noisy, crowded places. He did have a good time though. He got lots of attention!
Reply:My daughters first birthday was HUGE, there were atleast 60+ people there. It was in July so we had a huge BBQ and pool party with 2 babies pools and an inground and a pinata. My daughter wasnt over stimulated at all, she had fun!
Reply:My son will be 1 next month and I want a relatively small party. But we have a huge family. So right now our guest list has about 70 people on it. But if I could get away with it, it would be more like 30.
Reply:lol
