We should invite more Muslim Dictators to speak in universities, the public sentiment is to get toughwith Iran

Wouldn't that be funny to have those weird fanatics show how they really are. Support for the War would go through the roof.

He was unpopular in his own country. What we as Americans really need to do is inform ourselves. We need to understand the history of the Middle East. We need to understand the politics, the culture, the nuance... you know, all that important stuff. The Bush doctrine of "don't talk to your enemies and threaten to bomb everyone" clearly is not working. Whatever happened to "speak softly and carry a big stick"?

The fact is our treatment of him is probably the best thing he has going for him. Iran is a country divided, and just like the 9/11 attack united the country behind Bush, our threats are uniting Iran behind Ahmadinejad. Our policy is counter-productive unless our goal is to empower hard-liners in Iran.

We can *never* stop terrorism with more war, and our efforts in the Middle East are likely to be viewed as terrorism to them, prompting more extremism against us. How much blood and treasure will we use in the Middle East when we can't get things done at home, when our economy is far from stable, and when other countries are emerging as significant threats to us in the conventional-war sort of way?
Reply:I don't know an awful lot of left wing wackos at that University applauded. I am beginning to believe that liberalism is a mental disorder.
Reply:When we get hillarycare and real doctors give up, we'll have to import those bomb making doctors from the ME. Won't that be special.
Reply:It didn't seem to work the last time. It played very much in Iran's favor in their own controlled media.
Reply:No, secular religious fanaticism does not need a platform here. We know that they are fundamentalist fanatics already.
Reply:I'm gauging you are American. your country has already effed up two countries this decade. which breaks out of the routine of one invasion per decade established since Korea.

what happened to making sure your own backyard is clean before playing in someone elses.
Reply:you seem weird to them....funny how that works?
