How do you view other yahoo profiles to invite people you dont know to chat to you?

ive just joined yahoo and this is all very new to me and im wanting to make new friends.all answers greatly appreciated...xxx
How do you view other yahoo profiles to invite people you dont know to chat to you?
Yahoo no longer provides a way to "browse" profiles through 'people search'.





The best way to have access to other Yahoo users is to enter a chat room. (See instructions on how to do that below.) While in the chat room you can peruse profiles and partake in conversations to help you decide who you might wish to add to your friends list or even your connections list. (See instructions for viewing profiles below.)





How to enter a chat room from Yahoo Messenger:


1. At the top of the Yahoo Messenger friends list is a bar with the following options: ‘Messenger’, ‘Contacts’, ‘Actions’, ‘Help’. Click the one that says ‘Messenger’ and a menu will drop down.


2. Slide down to ‘Yahoo Chat’ and a smaller menu will appear to the side.


3. Slide over and click ‘Join a Room’. A new box will pop up with lots of choices. Major categories are listed on the left, with groups of rooms and individual rooms listed on the right. You can click the + to open more choices on either side.


4. Make a choice from the list on the right, then click ‘Go to Room’ on the bottom of the box.


5. A window will open with an ad in the center and a progress bar across the top that shows the application loading. When the bar is solid blue click the white button marked ‘Enter Chat’.


6. The chat room will open but you have to click the blue link before you are actually in the chat room. Clicking the link will open a window in your browser. Bring your browser to forefront to see the page.


7. You’ll see ‘Chat Room Verification’. That’s your entrance exam (captcha). Type what you see in the image box and click ‘Submit’. The page will change. If you see ‘Congratulations’, close that window and return to the chat application box. You should now see activity in the “room” on the left and a list of names on the right.


8. Now you’re ready to chat. Type into the text field and click ‘Send’. Have fun.





How to view a profile:


· To view a Yahoo account profile using a SN, click this URL: http://profiles.yahoo.com/ type the SN at the end, click enter.


· To view a Yahoo account profile in a chat room, right click on the name and choose ‘View Profile’.


· To view a Yahoo account profile in IM, click on their image box and choose ‘View Profile’. Or


· To view a Yahoo account profile for someone on your messenger list, right-click on their name and choose ‘View Profile’. The SN’s for recent conversations are listed in the pull down arrow at the right of the bar near the top of the Messenger interface.


· To view the profile of a Contact on your profile, click on the contact’s user image and an arrow will appear. Click the arrow and a box pops up with a few options for contacting that connection, or viewing their profile.





If a main account profile is private, you will see a message that tells you it is.





· For an Answers profile, click on the image box, or user name.
