Would you invite friends to your house if it wasnt like 99% tidy?

im 16. Some times i go to my mates house and its quite messy and it makes me think....

I would never let anyone come to my house and less it was spotless.. It always pays of though they say its clean :)

BTW, its me that always cleans the most - i love it, watching a movie in a clean house is so good, especially when my parents are relaxing to as they dont have to tidy.
Would you invite friends to your house if it wasnt like 99% tidy?
Wanna clean my apartment? It's about as messy as it can be right now. I'm never home (as I'm always out at my friend's clean apartment). It's horrible!! I need to just do it but I never have the time.
Reply:Well it depends. Good friends don't really mind. I take girls to my house because they help me clean it and make it tidy!
Reply:Haev you considered that you may be anal retentive?
Reply:Hi Monica Geller!!!
Reply:I wish my daughter thought the same way you did. I like to

have the house cleaned up as much as possible or close

the bedroom doors and don't let anyone into those rooms.
Reply:It's called living. Try it.
Reply:yes. my house is never all tidy.

i don't worry about people seeing a little untidiness.

or even a lot if i'm not feeling well.
Reply:Its nice to be clean and tidy and well done you- there are not many 16 years olds like you - i just wish there was- my teenage son and his girlfriend live like pigs! Hats off to you sunshine!!
Reply:I live in a home, not a house!

A home is not sterile it is lived in!
Reply:Wow...I wish you were my son.

Most men won't touch a bottle of windex, mop or broom. A women will not invite friends to her house unless it is very clean because they will talk later and discuss what a mess it was, is she depressed, on drugs, etc. I can't imagine a guy actually having a conversation like that!

"Ian, he is such a pig! Did you see all the chips and pizza boxes in his room? I can't imagine how his mother lets him live like that!"....see, no guy would say that!
Reply:I'm right there with you!
Reply:Most people your age don't really care if the house is clean because it isn't their house, it is their parent's house, so they don't feel responsibility for it. When I was that age my mother would always tell me to clean before inviting friends over, but I didn't care. Now that I own a home, I definitely clean well before inviting people over. So, I take this as meaning you are mature and it is good that you respect your parent's house.
Reply:Some people are used to living in a mess.

Many people think that other people live in a mess also, they they figure the other person may be used to it.
Reply:What I find with houses ,specially with those I can go up and down is the public areas like lounge and kitchen are spotless, and the upstairs and bedrooms are an absolute shithouse.Beds are not made, clothes all over the place New washing not put away in wardrobes or drawers and so on.It makes me wonder sometimes whether people only bother about what others can see. Anything else doesn't matter.
Reply:Acually my dad is the big neat frreak NOT me i would definitely invite friends if it's not 99% tidy!
Reply:Clean is good, but my friends are welcome anytime.

If they're going to stop liking me just because my home is in a bit of a state, are they really friends?
Reply:im not an untidy person...well try not to be...i work alot of hours and i mean alot...if i havent had time to clear up and my friends or family turn up and they dont like what they see....well then sorry they know where the door is...i cant work like i do and be on top of everything all the time
Reply:I like to keep my house neat, tidy, %26amp; picked up, but it's certainly not pristine. It is lived in and comfortable but I'd feel weird if someone came over and it wasn't clean.
Reply:Thats a bit strange for a 16yr old to like cleaning but very good for whoever you end up living with lol

I don't like people coming in my house because theres always a pile of washing to be done, toys lying everywhere, bits of fluff in the corners. The bathroom isnt spotless and we have odd cups. But i notice when i go to other peoples houses that they are not any better with cleaning but they don't seem as bothered about it as me.

Im only 24 though, with a baby so im hoping i have an excuse for the mess lol
Reply:I hate people turning up at my house if its not tidy! If I know people are coming around, I tidy up first!

I hate having an untidy house, especially if people are visiting!
Reply:Yes!

Everybody likes to see others aren't 'perfect', it makes them feel better about their own house.

Lets face it keeping a house spotless is pretty boring!!

When I was young I was embarrassed by my parents house, because they weren't house proud and although it was clean it was very dated. My friends seemed to have really trendy, moderns homes and I felt out of place.

Looking back MY house was the place all my friends enjoyed coming to because my parents didn't mind if we made a mess or spilt a drink.

A tidy house looks good but is not much fun.
Reply:firstly i have to say you're parents are very lucky to have such a tidy daughter! (not like my kids!!) but on the question itself i dont think i would only invite my friends round if my house was 99 percent tidy cos at the end of the day i would hope they're comin round to see me not my house! although i would be embaressed if it was a complete tip!! lol
Reply:no never.

i always keep my home tidy and clean, just because its good, but also when i was young my best friends house was a right tip and she used to get so shamed by it.

my son can bring home his mates at ant time and it will always be tidy.
Reply:Do you go to see your friend, or judge her house? OK, so a tip isn't pleasant, but if it's clean but cluttered, what odds? If she doesn't have three days' worth of unwashed dishes sitting around, and heaps of dirty laundry, it shouldn't matter if there are books and papers etc from her busy life scattered about.

My friends know me. I do make the effort to tidy up before they come but i am not Miss Perfect and they know that. Maybe also I make them feel better because they can relax and put their feet up without worrying. I don't like people's houses that look like a showroom in a shop, you're afraid to move or disarrange anything.

When you have your own place and a job and *have* to do your own cleaning, you'll soon stop being "spotless", or you'll be miserable.
Reply:best way as they say cleanliness is next to godliness
Reply:When I go to someone's house, I go to see them, not their house. Cleanliness and tidyess are important to a degree, but what's wrong with "lived in"?
Reply:well i would try to usually clean before i would invite any1 over....but sometimes people are soooo busy they dont' have time to clean......but i see what you mean people need to clean that always bugs me cuz my house is always like at least 85% clean when people come over

maybe ask them if there is anything u can do to help make it clean
Reply:Well I am afraid that people have to take me as they find me in my house! Don't get me wrong, its not filthy or anything yuck! But sometimes its not the tidest house you will ever see! And sometimes it is!
Reply:No way. And I hate it when they drop by and the house is a mess. I have relatives and friends to stay every xmas and sometimes through the year and I go mad cleaning the place from the walls to the carpets, everything must be spotless!
Reply:It depends
