Is it appropriate to invite a convicted juvenile child molestor to a birthday party for a child?

No. Not under any circumstances.
Is it appropriate to invite a convicted juvenile child molestor to a birthday party for a child?
How 'bout noooooo....(said in Dr Evil's voice)
Reply:its your preference....but are they by law aloud to be around children? Just a question.
Reply:Your SIL is demented and SICK. She should not have any children of her own.

That is NOT being a good parent.

If I found out that my child was invited to and attended a bday party that had a child molester there I would press charges against the adult that hosted the party and knowingly had a convicted sex offender there.
Reply:No its not appropriate because your putting every other child at risk of being attacked or maybe even groomed by this kid. I would definetly say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Way too scary. Not in a million years. A child molester will always be a child molester and the temptation will always be there.
Reply:It seems that you are obviously looking for "no" answers because of the way you stated it and the lack of details here. I would have to agree, in nearly all cases, probably not. I can think of a few where I wouldn't think it was so bad...

What I'm getting here is that the convicted molestor is a juvenile, right? Let's say the situation is that the birthday girl/boy is a 16 year old who is friends with the molestor. The party is going to be all 15-17 year olds and supervised well. Let's also say the the molestor was convicted of fondling a 12 year old at the time he was 13--consentually. (I'm not sure on the laws, but I'm making this up for my scenerio.) In that case, I personally, really wouldn't have any problem with it.

It's easy to say "No, never, of course not" but without more details about the actual situation...I can think of a few where I wouldn't think it would be the absolute worst thing in the world. Would I let a 16 year old convicted molestor be at a party for 5-6 year olds? Never. You really have to look at the circumstances of everything. And, if you're truely questioning it, it's always better to play it safe.
Reply:your friend is out of her mind........to dangerous for this person to be around kids............
Reply:a child molester, by law is not supposed to be around children.
Reply:Ummm, nope. Would you invite a fox to a party at the hen house? Tell that to your sister in law.
Reply:gosh to make it easier for the creep why don't you just send out invites that request the children to come naked!! some people amaze me!!
Reply:NO...They are not allowed around children.
Reply:um....no no no no no! that is a terriable idea. don't let her do that.
Reply:For heavens sake, how could you even consider such a thing. Pedophiles are never cured. EVER. They will always find children sexually stimulating and the temptation can be too much. You're just inviting trouble and very real danger to the party. Keep that person away at all costs. Even if it's FAMILY.
Reply:You think he or she is going to throw a child onto the dining room table and commit some kind of perversion in full view of the parents? What exactly do you think is going to happen?

Personally, I think the excon is going to be too uncomfortable to attend and that your SIL is just being sadistic to extend the invitation.
Reply:I wouldn't want my child at that party. So, no.
Reply:No Way!! Even if your SIL thinks its O.K. what about the other children. Their parents I am sure would not think it is O.K.
Reply:He should not be allow and more than likely his probation strictly prohibits it.
Reply:ummmm no....duh
Reply:Are people who rape woman allowed by females later in their lives. What about the rare person that rapes males. Their around men later. Just because they did it in the past doesn't mean that they'll do it again. The nations witch hunt of child molestors is ridicoulas. All the shark in the pool scenarios are ridicoulas it is a human being not a anmimal. Human beens were blessed with self control.
Reply:Uh, no...that's like inviting a shark to a pool party.
Reply:No...he/she will molest the birthday child
Reply:You asked a question like this without qualifying about your sil in the first place and wonder why people are thinking it's you doing the asking?? Think my dear.

And of course it wouldn't be correct. Not to mention probably illegal.
Reply:No. You might want to inform the other parents that this person may show up because if they found out after I'm sure things could get very ugly.
Reply:I'm thinkin....NO.
Reply:NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Not just inappropriate, it's probably illegal.
Reply:This is by far the most retarded question I think I have ever read on here. Sure go ahead, why don't you leave him/her alone with the children too. Yeah that would be great, I think it's wonderful your considering adding fuel to the fire.
Reply:Inappropriate and usually can land the molester back in jail.
Reply:no! wtf?
Reply:No I wouldn't, alot of convicted child molesters aren't allowed to be close to children without supervision. Also, they don't break their habit very easily and they might have their eye on some of the children there. You should watch " Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator" it is a show where they catch child predators and for many of them it is not the first time.
Reply:YES I THINK SO
